I ask people all the time about how cannabis has helped them, but just recently I started thinking about what cannabis has done for me. While it has provided me with substantial benefits and blessings, there is one that stands out above them all, and that is how it has helped me to be a better mother.
Cannabis is helping millions of people around the globe with different medical ailments, and there’s no longer a stereotypical cannabis user, if that ever existed at all. From anxiety, depression, and PTSD to Crohn’s disease, cancer, intractable pain and much more, cannabis is helping treat a plethora of conditions providing a higher quality of life to many. I am versed in many different aspects of this plant and the culture in which surrounds it.
Happier and More Engaged
I’m naturally a stressed-out person, but when medicated, my nerves are at ease. By consuming cannabis, it allows me to be happier and more engaged with my children and in general day to day life. Without cannabis, I probably wouldn’t be a fun person to be around. With cannabis however, I can be a blast! It motivates me to do more than just mope around the house in my feelings.
It encourages me to get up and get moving. To be active. To do things I enjoy, including spending quality time with my children. From taking hikes and ice cream outings to days by the river and snuggling up for a good movie, thanks to cannabis I am much more engaged with my children and the world in general. I am also much happier not just because of the cannabis, but because of how it allows me to be a better mother.
More Creative and Imaginative
Throughout history, many creative minds have utilized cannabis to open up their imagination. While I may be a writer in general without cannabis, my imagination and creativity are minimal. When medicating with cannabis however not only does my body become relaxed but so does my mind and it opens up the ability for me to be more creative and imaginative. If you have ever had to entertain five children, you will understand just how vital imagination and creativity can be.
These are just two of the ways that cannabis helps me to be a better mother and person. How has cannabis helped you? Do you feel that you are a better parent because of cannabis? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
