Friday’s medical program includes speakers and panel discussions by prominent and respected medical practitioners, including Dr. Juan Sanchez-Ramos, of the University South Florida, and noted author and keynote presenter Dr. Gregory L. Smith. They will be examining the latest medical cannabis legislation and research, as well as recommendations for the effective development of medical marijuana treatment plans.
Florida’s recent passage of a constitutional amendment legalizes marijuana as a treatment option for patients with debilitating medical conditions including cancer, epilepsy, glaucoma, HIV, AIDS, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Crohn’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis or other comparable illnesses.
