Cannabis: A Calming Effect

Cannabis is well-known for its calming effects, and as the world we live in grows ever increasingly more violent and horrendous atrocities make the news weekly, sometimes it feels that we all just need to calm down a little. From school shootings to road rage and everything in between it seems the world is just getting meaner. Could this possibly be a by-product or a side effect of life? Could it be from what we eat or the medications we take to help us deal with life?

A lot of people seem to agree that this isn’t necessarily a leading cause of the problem but definitely a culprit. Cannabis legalization is happening globally at a time when it is needed more than ever before. After just eight decades of marijuana prohibition society, in general, has suffered. They’ve suffered incarceration, they’ve suffered illness, they suffered separation. Cannabis legalization is bringing a change across the nation and around the world.

Addiction and overdose rates associated with dangerous, deadly narcotics such as opioids are being reduced. In some states with legal cannabis markets, we are seeing as much as a 40% reduction in overdose and addiction rates. Violent crimes are also dropping instead of being on the rise in states with legal access to cannabis. This is information that is readily available all over the internet. Forbes, Newsweek, TIME Magazine, and others all cover these topics.

Countries around the world are starting to drop their support of the United States of America’s War on Drugs or attempted eradication of cannabis. They’re adopting laws in their country that will allow them to participate in a global trade community. This is a community that is helping to heal a world full of anger, sickness, and violence.

Cannabis doesn’t fix everything and isn’t the solution for every problem out there. However, cannabis is exceptionally beneficial for every mammal on the planet. There’s no denying that each one of us, if you call yourself a mammal, has an endocannabinoid system. The system is vital in helping to regulate communication between cells and nerves assisting the body to function properly.

Legalizing cannabis also helps to take down other illegal markets. Cannabis consumers, for the most part, are hard-working individuals or patients without a violent history. These individuals are more apt to call in and report criminal activity when they aren’t in fear of being arrested because they smell like weed.

Bob Marley perhaps said it best when he said: “cannabis is the healing of the nations.”  Anybody who consumes cannabis can tell you it has calming effects. Comedian Katt Williams does a little skit about cannabis where he says “everybody needs a little fuck it in their life.” The reference, is of course, to smoking cannabis. Just imagine if the whole world was to blaze for a day what we might be able to achieve. While some people think it would be a day of dysfunction, where nothing was right, and everyone called out from work, sleeping, those of us who know the culture and community know differently.

Cannabis can help calm not only patients who suffer from anxiety and PTSD but everyday folks like you and me. Instead of going to the bar after work and getting drunk just to drive home inebriated, potentially hurting yourself or someone else, blaze some bud with your buds. Cannabis helps millions of people around the world to relax after a hard day at work. If you suffer from anger fits or are just naturally a little bit of a pissed-off person, you may want to consider giving cannabis a try.

Speaking personally, I don’t think life would be the same without cannabis. I have smoked my entire life and I always will. The one time it was taken from me by the government while on probation, was an extremely difficult time for me. I’m naturally a little edgy and have a slight OCD. Without my herb, I’m not the same. I tried their regimen of Paxil, Amitriptyline, and Trazodone for a month before deciding they could kiss my ass. I’ll never be the one on a pharmaceutical run.

Cannabis is a miraculous plant medicine that is widely misunderstood. The more information we share about it, the more we help to break the negative stigmas and stereotypes attached to this profound plant. Increase the peace and blaze with a bud. Sharing is caring so if you have a little to blaze, share with a friend. Remember it only takes a single seed to tip the scales of injustice towards the favor of the people.
