Damian Marley Talks Pens, Pot & Prison Project with Craig Ex

CLN correspondent Craig Ex, aka The Expert of Expert Joints, had a chance to sit down for a chat with musician and entrepreneur Damian “Junior Gong” Marley at this year’s Emerald Cup in Santa Rosa, California.

Marley, who also performed at a sold-out concert while in town for the annual celebration of craft cannabis culture, was at Ocean Grown Extract’s booth to help promote the new Speak Life OG pen that bares his famous family name and uses his own favourite strain.

“How I got involved with Ocean Grown Extract is really about being a fan of their product,” said Marley. “I had tried their flower several times and I love it very much. I think it has a quality I can stand behind as myself knowing this is something that I personally use and I can recommend it to other people.”

Marley, 38, also said he expects to have the first harvest from his Prison Project ready for consumption in January. The venture, also done in partnership with Ocean Grown Extract, has turned an abandoned prison in Coalinga, California that closed five years ago into a huge medical cannabis production facility while also revitalizing an economically depressed town that depended on the prison for jobs.

He added that his fourth album, Stony Hill, should be ready by April 2017.
