Government Received 30,000 Responses on Cannabis Legalization for Task Force

The government’s call for public feedback ahead of cannabis legalization drew 30,000, mostly online, responses from the public.

The public consultation survey was open from Jun. 30 to Aug. 29, and asked Canadians questions like if cannabis should be allowed to be used in public, home growing, and minimum age for cannabis use.

Information collected will be submitted to the federal government task force in its report to the government, due to be presented in November.

The task force has also been travelling to areas like Colorado and Washington to learn more about  legalized cannabis systems already in operation as well as hosting several invitation-only meetings in Canadian cities.
