GATINEAU, QC–(Marketwired – May 02, 2017) – The Hydropothecary Corporation (TSX VENTURE: THCX) (“THCX” or the “Company”) today announced a voluntary stop-sale and stop-shipment on all products.

This action was taken as a precautionary measure immediately following a Health Canada notification at 6:07 pm (EDT) on May 1, 2017, that test results of cannabis leaf samples taken on March 8, 2017, indicated the presence of myclobutanil, a general use fungicide registered for use on a wide range of food crops but which is not approved for use on cannabis The results indicate levels of 0.023 parts per million (ppm) and 0.012 ppm. Hydropothecary notes that it has been conducting voluntary pesticide testing on all lotted products since February 2, 2017, through a certified third party laboratory. All such pesticide test results have been negative for pesticides at a level of 0.05 ppm. THCX’s testing program was developed on industry advice from Health Canada and industry norms. The source of the myclobutanil is unknown and the Company is conducting a review to determine the source of the pesticide. The Company has not received any serious adverse reaction reports related to its products.

“Health Canada’s testing results indicate the levels of myclobutanil found are at exceptionally low levels. This is not likely to cause any adverse health consequences. This risk level is consistent with Health Canada’s recent memo on the matter (see link below). Hydropothecary is currently carrying out an in depth investigation into this serious matter with a broad range of testing underway. Our stop-sale is a precautionary measure intended to provide the utmost transparency to all involved and to ensure our patients are completely confident in the safety of our products and production system.” said Dr. Shane Morris, VP Quality Assurance & Scientific Affairs. “This is an evolving matter and we are working closely with Health Canada to determine the next steps.”

“THCX intends to release test results of all pesticide testing since February 2, 2017, within the next 24 hours, to provide reassurance to its clients and the public. We also intend to keep our clients fully informed as this matter progresses and provide daily updates on Hydropothecary’s website (starting May 2, 2017). As always, Hydropothecary’s first priority is to protect the health and safety of our patients.”

Well I am not surprised and more of them will get caught but nothing will happen to them because they own the liberal party and Trudeau is their bum boy .
Trudeau said in the VICE interview that any caught using unapproved chemicals would lose their license but to date 4 have been caught none have lost their Licenses so Trudeau’s mouth opens and nothing but bullshit and lies come out of it.

  • bob

to take these guys to task the liberals would have to sabotage their own plan..wiat until craft growers are involved their licence will be revoked instantly…but eastern corporations will be allowed to IMPROVE???

    • Robert Wright

Bob at this point I really wonder if legal craft growing will be allowed seems like the liberals and their LP friends want it all the greedy bastards.
If it is allowed Trudeau will hold it over until he’s up for re-election and use it to get votes.

no they are moving forward. and will be giving more LP licences out ..I hope they will reduce some of the may be up to the provinces to do something along the line of the small winery licences that allow you to grow and sell locally…..this may be able to be under the Perdue of the province…

M’well, to me it seems Québec’s only LP (who dares exploit a reference to traditional “apothecaries” in their commercial name, e.g. which i don’t find to my taste consequently) just appears to have tested Health Canada: in other words one more LP was caught… they were probably hoping to determine what level cannot be detected, euh… There are 3 dozen more LPs, when they find it i’m sure they’ll pass the word around!! It’s too convenient having their tracks covered by the fact that the smoking consumption method all by itself also happens to generate hydrogen cyanide. The temptation is too great.

The way i see it we’ll need to use water osmosis filtration to remove the “additives”, so now on top of rotating jars in my refrigerator, because i don’t even get properly cured “mari-caca” around here, euh… now i fear i’ll also have more of this shit stuck in some other processing loop, waiting to be grinded, mixed with decent better quality stuff, to make things even, etc…

Frankly i’m expecting the 4 plants / logging meter & 30 g / month limits will cause trouble to persons who call for none. Then, taxing on top of an already inflated (mafia-like) price-tag, for euh… This Hydropothecary mess??

Briefly put this “legaleezation” reform was meant to fail even before it started. Then the bigot anti-cannabic prohibitionists will use their precious failure as proof of whatever comes next: legal kidnappings, suicide by cop, etc… It’s not like these things never occured before and the worse part of it is that no correstives are made, like each new politician feels entitled to push the limits beyond what his predecessor achieved! After all Trudeau has quite a twisted record when we connect the sucession of symbolic political “messages”, the 4-20 speech at UNGASS 2016 should have raised due attention.

    Good day, have fun!!
