While medical cannabis is now legal in the state of New York, recreational use still isn’t.
Which is something a 31-year-old Rochester man perhaps found out the hard way after calling police to accuse a 31-year-old woman of stealing his stash.
The charges were filed by Gates police after the male, who shall remain nameless out of pity to avoid future Google problems, called February 11 report that the unnamed female had purloined his pot.
Gates Police found the woman and recovered the marijuana, and he was then charged with “unlawful possession of marihuana” while she in turn was charged with “unlawful possession of marihuana” and “petit larceny.”
They were both issued appearance tickets and will appear in court at a later date.
