Toronto Police Raid Evergreen Medicinals, Two Arrested

Toronto police announced the raid of another dispensary in the city, this time at Evergreen Medicinals (2078 Dundas Street West).

One of two Evergreen Medicinals locations in Toronto, the Monday afternoon raid resulted in the arrest of Andy Nguyen, 28 and Jordana Craig, 26.

The pair are charged with a collection of violations of then Controlled Drugs & Substances Act, including possession, possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime.

Both were scheduled to appear in court this morning at Old City Hall.

Police said they took further action as a result of information obtained during the investigation at Evergreen Medicinals

“Officers from 11 Division Major Crime Unit executed two more Search Warrants on a motor vehicle at Evergreen Medicinals and at a townhouse located in the Symington Avenue and Bloor Street West area,” a statement from authorities read. “Three men were taken into custody.”

Daniel Herr, Keng Herr and Mario Mayo were arrested and jointly charged with possession of a schedule II substance, possession of a schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime.

They also appeared in court earlier today.

In May, Toronto police carried out Project Claudia, a sweeping action against the city’s dispensaries that saw 90 arrested across 43 shops.

Since then, police have continued to raid shops, with approximately 21 additional shops raided since Project Claudia, according to police reports, and at least 60 individuals arrested.
