Hobo Rec. to open eight B.C. locations in quick succession, building market share nationally
With the City of Vancouver announcing on Tuesday the approval of business licenses for the first two B.C. locations of Hobo Recreational Cannabis, Donnelly Group today announced the launch of it’s Main St. and Granville St. retail stores.
Located at 4296 Main St. and 8425 Granville St. in Vancouver, respectively, the British Columbia openings follow close on the heels of Hobo Rec.’s Ottawa launch on April 1st, the first day legal cannabis stores were allowed to open in Ontario.
A follow up Vancouver store is expected on Robson St, along with an expansion in Kelowna.
“Over the years we’ve built strong relationships with many of Vancouver’s local businesses, lawmakers and locals, and couldn’t be more excited to introduce them to Hobo Rec.,” said Harrison Stoker, Vice President of Brand and Culture at Donnelly Group. “Physical stores have been slow to rollout in B.C., affecting people’s ability to access legal, recreational cannabis.
With the addition of the two Hobo Rec. locations in Vancouver, the total number of legal pot shops rises to five, joining Evergreen Cannabis Society in Kitsilano and the two City Cannabis locations on Robson St. and Fraser St., respectively.
As per their branding, the Hobo Rec. locations will break down their offerings by five cannabis intenst: Move (THC dominant), Lift (THC leaning), Balance (equal parts THC to CBD), Calm (CBD dominant), and Rest (THC dominant).
Both stores will be open to the public today, from 9am-11pm.
