First Licensed Producer Begins Sale of Cannabis Oils

Six months after the Supreme Court forced Health Canada to allow medical patients access to edible forms of cannabis, the first government licensed producer has started selling cannabis oils.

Stayner, Ontario based Peace Naturals Project Inc announced Dec. 7 that they had received a license from the government, permitting them to sell oils through the government’s mail-order medical marijuana system.

There are 14 other licensed producers listed by Health Canada with a license to produce the oils, but only Peace Naturals Project Inc has been given the go-ahead to sell, with the others still awaiting approval from administrators.

In a press release, Peace Naturals Project Inc said the licensed producer “has always seen non-combustible consumption as the more viable solution for Canadians in need.”
