JWC named the first ACMPR Licensee of 2017

A Kitchener-based medical cannabis company has been named the 38th licensed producer in Canada and the first Health Canada-approved Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR) licensee of 2017.

James E Wagner Cultivation LTD, a self-described “family owned and operated business with deep roots” in Ontario‘s Waterloo region, first began as a collective of growers and patients under the previous MMAR system.

During this time, we perfected our growing practices, eventually settling on a proprietary, next-generation aeroponic technique,” said JWC spokesperson Laura Foster in a press release. “Our proprietary growth system allows for an unprecedented degree of control, allowing us to maximize the plant’s potential at every stage of the growth process. This results in a clean, consistent, premium product which we are excited to share with the patients of Canada.”

The company is named for their late family patriarch, a German immigrant and tobacco farmer, who grew up in southern Ontario.
