Tom Fairfull, owner of FV Pharma Inc., says, “I’m not giving up,” in reference to his federally licensed medical cannabis industrial greenhouse. Expected to bring in as many as 40 new full-time jobs, with the possibility of 300 more in the future, Fairfull is growing frustrated at Health Canada‘s sluggishness. Two years and millions of dollars later, Fairfull isn’t any closer to getting the green light despite his license to grow. Health Canada has yet to schedule an inspection, costing Fairfull money as his factory and workers sit idle despite the technical know-how and ability to start producing right away.
When Health Canada spokesperson Shawn Uptown was contacted he would not comment on FV Pharma, calling the application “confidential.”
