The 2018 Great Canadian Glass Gathering, originally scheduled for June 29-July 1st in Kelowna, has just announced a big change- due to some venue issues, it will no longer be held in Kelowna. It’s moving back to Birken, BC, but the dates have stayed the same, so save that weekend if you don’t want to miss out on this amazing event!
The Great Canadian Glass Gathering is described on its website as “a rustic multi-day festival that celebrates glass, grass, music, and culture” and in addition to all of that, it will also feature potluck dinners, a wedding, and glass demos and classes.
As stated on Facebook, event organizer Patrick Vrolyk (and the man behind Redbeard Glass) is looking forward to bringing the Great Canadian Glass Gathering back to its grassroots. But with the event just over 40 days away, the organizers need all the help they can get in light of the venue change, so if any of you are interested in volunteering or sponsoring, please reach out to them. They are also still welcoming entries and judges for the accompanying cannabis cup!
Volunteers can sign-up here, and to enter the cannabis cup, go here.
For those of you wondering where Birken is, it’s about an hour’s drive north from Whistler, which makes it super close to Vancouver– just under a 3-hour drive from Vancity.
More details and announcements regarding the Great Canadian Glass Gathering coming soon!
For those of you that have already purchased tickets, they will be honoured at the new location and if you cannot make it to Birken, you will be refunded.
