Welcome to another segment of Cooking with Cannabis 101, today we’ll be going over how to cook with kief. We’ll cover what kief is and how to cook with Kief!
If you’re unfamiliar with the term, kief refers to the resin glands that contain terpenes and cannabinoids. If you’ve got some weed laying around, take a close look at it and you’ll see some bulbous crystal formations; that’s kief! Kief is one part of what is called a trichome, which is essentially a hair that the cannabis plant developed for evolutionary purposes.
Extracting kief is a simple process. You’ll need a grinder, preferably with at least 3 chambers. Two-chamber grinders work fine but often waste kief as they get caught up in the grinder. Finely grinding nugs of cannabis will allow the kief crystals to sift through the grinder and collect in the bottom compartment. Once you’ve collected your kief, simply follow the instructions of the video above.
