“There is nothing better than a friend unless it is a friend with chocolate.”

One of the most exciting aspects of edibles is the beautiful marriage of cannabis and cocoa. And while nationwide we have taken steps towards making licensed edibles, extracts, topicals, and the like, more available for consumers, there have been hiccups, with supply and degree of selection being a big stopping point.

Well, enter Indiva – a licensed cannabis producer, based out of London, Ontario, who announced on Monday that they have received their sales license from Health Canada for the sale of edibles, extracts, and topicals.

In an exciting addition, they announced that they will be bringing Bhang infused chocolate bars to Canada. These Milk and Dark Chocolate bars are sustainably-sourced and fair-trade, and for the Canadian market, due to Health Canada dosage restrictions, they will be scored into four pieces, with a 10mg total infusion. Bhang CBD Chocolate bars will also be available, arriving later in 2020.

These new products will begin immediately shipping to wholesales in six Canadian provinces: Ontario, Nova Scotia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and British Columbia.

“To say we are excited to receive this sales license in an understatement,” said Niel Marotta, Indiva’s President, and Chief Executive Officer. “This sales license is transformational for Indiva as it allows us to enter new markets and product categories and distribute products nationally.”

Bhang chocolates and other products are already sold in the United States but are not restricted to the Canadian dosage limits. Any offerings within Canada will be adjusted to comply with Health Canada regulations.
