New Music Fridays: Louis the Child, Ty Dolla $ign, G-Eazy, and DVBBS

Once again we have made it to the end of the week, and the end of the week means NEW MUSIC. Some amazing new tunes coming from Louis the Child, Ty Dolla $ign, G-Eazy, and DVBBS.

Louis the Child, COIN – Self Care

Just two weeks after their Candy Beat Tape II, Louis the Child is back with another single. The track features COIN’s high pitched airy vocals with a trademark, Louis the Child beat underneath. The combination of the two creates a very interesting blend of sounds, something that has been popular amongst artists in recent times. The result is a funky dance track that elicits feel-good energy.

Ty Dolla $ign – By Yourself (feat. Jhené Aiko & Mustard)

Ty Dolla $ign teases his new album “featuring Ty Dolla $ign” with this single featuring Jhené Aiko over a beat produced by Mustard. The smooth and rhythmic R&B track is proof that Ty Dolla $ign stands as an icon in the R&B world. Jhené Aiko and he converse about his appreciation of Aiko’s independence. In the current state of music, a song with this message of being an empowered woman is exactly what the industry needs. One can only wonder what the rest of his album has in store for us.

G-Eazy – Hate The Way (feat. blackbear)

G-Eazy links up with Blackbear on this emotional track. The two rap about the struggles of being attached to a toxic person. The contrast between G-Eazy and Blackbear’s voice really symbolizes that anyone can go through a situation like this, making it a universal song that can be understood by anyone. The track, being able to convey the heavy emotional challenges, is a perfect autumn song for when the weather gets cold and the leaves fall off the trees.

DVBBS – West Coast

Conversely, DVBBS comes in with a groovy bass-driven dance track talking about a connection that DVBBS can’t get enough of, and is trying to get her to his location. The track has elements similar to those of a Calvin Harris’ ‘Funk Wav Bounce’. The house drums mixed with his catchy vocals create a summer bop that is sure to get you tapping your feet (or dancing if the clubs were open).

And with that, we have our picks for New Music Fridays. Make sure to comment on anything else that caught your ear in the comments below!
