New Music Friday: Russ, Saweetie, Zayn & A-Trak

Congratulations! You’ve made it through another week and to reward you we have the top picks of this week’s new music. This week we feature music from Russ, Saweetie, Zayn, and A-Trak.

Ugly (Ft. Lil Baby) – Russ

Russ is an individual who is both admired and hated. His attitude has created an arrogant character around his persona that he fully embraces in this song. Teaming up with rap superstar Lil baby, the two drop hard bars boasting about their success and greatness over a punchy beat. One of the most notable features of this track is the trumpet sample, giving the track a triumphant anthem feel to it. One can only wonder how much farther Russ will take his career.

Best Friend (Ft. Doja Cat) – Saweetie

Every track that Saweetie comes out with has a fresh new bounce that will get stuck in anyone’s head. The two come together beautifully on the track sharing the chorus. This technique is extremely uncommon but the execution of this style on this track is what makes it both unique and catchy. Without a doubt, this track will be blasting in the clubs as soon as they reopen.

Vibez – ZAYN

This track features a slower track with a more sensual vocal from ZAYN. Racking up over 100,000 views on youtube within a day of its release, this song has hit a certain chord with people. Groovy and smooth, this track is perfect for driving through the city. ZAYN hits this song with some luscious vocals that really carry the song. Definitely a track worth listening to, to get your head nodding.

My Own Way – A-Trak & Ferreck Dawn

Our final track of the day is one that will get you dancing no matter where you listen to it. A-Trak comes together with Ferreck Dawn to create some 80’s sampled house with nostalgic string samples and extremely processed vocals. The way they approach the song creates a very unique texture to the track that is not too overpowering but gets you into the rhythm of all the elements.

And that’s a wrap for our New Music Friday Series. Let us know in the comments below any other tracks we missed out on this week. And to listen to last week’s music tracks click here.
