RCMP Seize $500,000 Worth Of Cannabis And Cannabis Oil In Field, BC

We have been noting how the nation’s top law enforcement officials have been reminding everyone that cannabis is still illegal and that the law will still be enforced. Other officers have noticed that citizens seem confused on the law, and that many are breaking the law while thinking they haven’t committed a crime.

Individuals are still getting arrested for cannabis possession on a daily basis and last Friday was no exception. The RCMP was conducting routine safety checks near Field, BC along the Trans-Canada Highway when they seized over $500,000 worth of cannabis and cannabis oil from two Alberta men. The total amount seized over 4 kg of cannabis and 10 litres of oil known as ‘Phoenix Tears’.

The two men, ages 24 and 47, are to appear in Golden provincial court this May. Sgt. Rob Haney had this to say about this bust, “It is extremely rewarding knowing that we were able to keep these dangerous drugs from reaching the streets of our communities.”

This comment will surely confuse the growing number of people who are relying on cannabis oil to treat various conditions such as epilepsy, crohn’s disease, and many others. Arrests like this one can be expected to continue until the federal government finally rolls out legalization for cannabis.
