The 2017 Emerald Cup is coming up fast on December 9-10 at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa, California, and early bird tickets just went on sale for the 14th annual event. The weekend is guaranteed to be full of music, education, entertainment, and community- and oh yeah, the best of organically grown cannabis Californian has to offer.
From its beginning, the Emerald Cup has always focused on sustainable outdoor farming and the competition consists of sun-grown cannabis only. According to the rules, full indoor-grown flowers are not eligible for the 2017 competition
The Cannabis Life Network attended the Emerald Cup last year, where our resident joint expert Craig Ex interviewed headliner Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley. The organizers said 2016 was their most successful year yet- that’s why tickets to the 2017 edition is on our early pre-Christmas wishlist.
You can expect experts, educators, and an amazing experience as the event gathers growers, farmers, industry leaders, and cannabis enthusiasts of all kinds to celebrate and learn about cannabis and listen to some great tunes.
The Cannifornian calls the Emerald Cup “the largest, most respected, organic, outdoor, medicinal cannabis competition in the world.”
The full list of musicians, speakers, workshops, glass artists, and parties are yet to be announced, but stay tuned, and if you are interested in competing in the Emerald Cup, the entry deadlines range from November 10-17, 2017. The drop-off sites for all entries are either SC Labs (in Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa, or Santa Ana) or Laytonville’s Healing Harvest Farms.

- Flowers
- Mixed Light Flowers: This will encompass light deprivation and 100% solar panel light source. Full indoor grown flowers are not eligible for the 2017 competition
- Ice-Water Concentrates
- Rosin
- CO2: vape cartridges and non-vape extractions
- Distillates
- Edibles
- Topicals
- Tinctures
- CBD
- Innovative Product: This will encompass the best new cannabis products that don’t necessarily fall into the above listed categories ie: terpene extractions, suppositories, lubricants, etc
