The 4th annual Cannabis Business Summit and Expo, which ran from June 12-14, just wrapped up in Oakland, and it was an amazing weekend in the California sun where the weather was hot and the Warriors won.
Presented by the National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA), the Cannabis Business Summit is one of the most influential cannabis trade shows in the U.S.
It always attracts the cannabis industry’s best and brightest- this year’s keynote speaker was former president of Mexico, Vicente Fox!
I asked Lauren Fraser from River Collective, a California-based cannabis streaming company, and Craig Ex, from Expert Joints, for their thoughts on the Cannabiz summit.
Lauren said, “The NCIA California Show is one of the top business conferences in the industry and it’s a chance to network with like-minded professionals and form new connections.”
Craig Ex agreed, saying he learned “How many good people are in the industry”.
Laura also noticed how “It keeps getting bigger, and each year, the exhibitor floor changes, reflecting the change in the industry”, which underscored Craig’s point, who said his biggest takeaway was seeing “How many people and businesses are interested in cannabis and how fast the marketplace is growing”.
With such a wide range of topics, there was something for everyone as industry experts spoke on subjects such as:
- Policy and Reform
- Cultivation and Processing
- The Fine Print- including IP issues, financing, and taxes
- Running Your Cannabusiness
- Emerging Topics in the Industry
If you feel you missed out, don’t worry, there’s always next year. For a list of NCIA’s upcoming events, click here.
In the meantime, do the next best thing and stay tuned for the CLN videos, coming soon, with your host, Craig Ex!
