Toronto Forum to Discuss Future of Medical Cannabis in Canada

The Lift Cannabis Forum in Toronto will commence on July 20 as an opportunity for experts and the public to come together and discuss the future of cannabis access and regulation in Canada.

CinC LogoTopics of discussion will include: the transition from the MMAR to the MMPR, the Allard injunction and the anticipated decision expected later this year, the recent Smith decision on extracts and Health Canada‘s response. While the BC farmers’ market is relevant for Vancouver, over 50% of MMPR patients are in Ontario and so that remains a major topic for the Future of Medical Cannabis in Canada forum.

The forum panellists represent various industry stakeholders and include Mark Zekulin, President of Health Canada-licensed producer, Tweed; Gary Leong, Chief Science Officer of Health Canada-licensed producer, Aphria; Dr. Danial Schecter, co-founder of Cannabinoid Medical Clinic; Adam Greenblatt, co-founder of Montreal-based Sante Cannabis; and Jonathan Zaid, the University of Waterloo student who garnered media attention for successfully convincing his insurance provider to cover his medical cannabis.
