WEEDS Presents the Homegrown Art Show Mar. 22

Homegrown brings together glassblowers and local artists for a show inspired by the fresh new beginnings of Spring.

On Friday, Mar. 22, WEEDS Glass and Gifts is presenting and cordially inviting you to the Homegrown Art Show, a celebration of local art that builds upon the successes of WEEDS’ first foray into the art world back in November 2018 with Bob High’s Trippy Art Show.

Catch the recap video and details of the night here.

The event page describes Homegrown like this:

“We have invited a selection of prominent glassblowers to exhibit locally handcrafted, artisanal glass. Alongside an array of pieces and a UV light glassware display, several glassblowers will demonstrate the skill involved with the creative process during the event.”

At Homegrown, you’ll see beautiful glass pieces and get a greater appreciation of the art form when you see the work of Redbeard Glass, Gibsons Glassworks, Leash Glass, Intoxicated Pineapple, and Skullfish Glass.

In addition to the glassblowers, Homegrown stays true to its name as WEEDS invited its talented in-house team to “channel their creativity into a multitude of works, varying across different mediums, styles, textures and themes”. Jett Black Ink, Barrett Blasphemy, Vicky Henley, Eduardo Mendoza, and Nick Villanueva all stepped up to the plate and will be showing their eclectic styles alongside the glass art.

DJ Dare2Funk will be providing the soundtrack for the night, and in addition to light refreshments throughout the evening, you can look forward to the return of the popular Dab Bar with sauce provided by Terp Fire Extracts. To sweeten the pot, WEEDS will be donating proceeds from the Dab Bar to “We Care”, a fundraising effort to send 20 kids, who have lost their parents to opioids, to summer camp. Not only that, WEEDS will match the proceeds with their own donation.

We hope to see at Homegrown on Friday because what goes better with cannabis than a little creativity? The fact that you’re here on this website practically guarantees that you’re a fan of cannabis, and practically everybody, whether they consider themselves creative or not, can appreciate beauty and art.

Our Homegrown event is just on the horizon and me oh my, we’re all so excited. March 22nd, save the date! All proceeds from the dab bar will go to We Care, Vancouver. We’re trying to raise the $10,000 required to send twenty kids who have lost their parents to the opioid crisis to a youth camp this summer. So alongside beautiful art, gorgeous glass and an array of friendly faces, we will be fundraising for this important cause.
